St. Michael Parish Youth Group

Calling All Teens! Calling All Teens! Calling All Teens!

St. Michael Youth are a group of fun, energetic, and faith-filled teens who gather each month to pray, play, relax, and support each other on our journeys. Meetings are open to those in grades 8-12 and we meet in the youth room of the Fr. Larry Jackson Youth Center.

The Youth Group generally meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:30-8pm for a Gathered Event. This will consist of prayer, discussion and activities about a particular theme, perhaps a PowerPoint or Video presentation, and refreshments. These events are always fun and Spirit-filled!

We will meet as well on the 4th Friday of every month from 7-9pm for a Fun Night. During this time we will either play games (board games, card games, ping-pong, air hockey) or watch a fun movie.   The sky’s the limit. Your suggestions are welcome!! As always, we will have refreshments.

We will meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm for Youth Group Peer Night. Here’s the premise: this time will be for you to come up to church to have a quiet place to do homework, get help on homework, talk about relevant issues, pray with others, or just get away from home for a bit. While it is not a structured evening, it is also not a free-for-all.

All teens are welcome and encouraged to attend any of our events; be sure to bring a friend…there are no strangers in God’s house!

Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian community to the needs of young people and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community.  (Renewing the Vision, Purpose)
The St. Michael Youth Group seeks:

  • to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today through works of service to the greater community.
  • to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community through meaningful prayer services and liturgies.
  • to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person through monthly gatherings featuring time for both prayer and socializing.
