9:45 Classical Choir
Have fun singing! This choir rehearses every Wednesday 7-9pm and sings every Sunday at 9:45am Mass during the school year. No previous singing experience is necessary. New members are welcome at any time.
Handbell Choirs
Have fun ringing bells with 9 other ringers and play at various Masses. These bell choirs rehearse every Wednesday: Youth 4:30-5pm, Beginner youth 5:15-6pm, Adults 6-7pm. No previous ringing experience necessary, however Adult ringers should be able to read music. New members are asked to join in September.
Resurrection Choir
Receive a phone call or an e-mail and, if you are available, sing at a funeral. No rehearsals but a Christmas luncheon and end-of-the-year breakfast. An important ministry, many times those grieving cannot sing or pray. Our singing consoles and strengthens. Members are asked to sing whenever possible: one funeral or as many as your schedule permits. New members are welcome at any time.
Cantor
This group of singers requires a strong voice, good musicality, music reading a plus but not a must. All members must be 7th grade through adult. Pick up a cd and music folder on Tuesday; sing at your scheduled weekend liturgy.
Each Cantor requires preparation time on your own learning songs with the cd. Cantors are scheduled to sing about once a month.
Periodic cantor workshops with voice teachers are held, about two a year. New members are asked to join in either September or January as there is a printed schedule.
Instrumentalist
Improve your sight-reading skills by playing at a Mass of your choice. Instrumental music is available for (but is not limited to) guitar, bass, percussion, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. This group has a limited number of rehearsals, usually on Wednesdays 6pm or 7-8pm.
New instrumentalists can join at any time.
Children’s Christmas Choir/Band
Sing/play on Christmas Eve at the 4pm Children’s Christmas Eve Mass. Come to 3 rehearsals in December: Saturdays at 3:00pm for singers, 3:30pm for band.
Instrumentalists should have at least one semester on their instrument before joining this group. Watch the Messenger for an announcement in November to sign up.
