Eucharistic Ministry

Eucharistic Ministers prayerfully serve the people of Saint Michael Catholic Community by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during Eucharistic celebrations.

Sharing in the Eucharist is the heart of our Sundays for all the baptized.

The role of the assembly is to celebrate the liturgy together.  It is not the priest alone who offers the Eucharist but all those gathered together.

As a eucharistic minister, you serve the community by sharing with them the mystery that makes us one body in Christ….Your ministry is fundamental to this celebration and essential for those gathered.

You will join others serving in this ministry by being scheduled through our on-line Ministry Scheduler Program.  Assignments are based on identified/preferred availability (i.e., day(s), mass time(s)).  We produce new schedules three (3) times per year.  Your scheduled time for service may not always be convenient, but it is always important.

You will be trained by experienced ministers from our parish.  No special skills are needed.  Your duties/responsibilities are simple:

  • Work in tandem with a fellow minister.
  • Assist in sprinkling rites, when scheduled.
  • Enlist the assistance of a third eucharistic minister when our deacon is not present/scheduled to assist at mass.
  • Bring the ciborium of hosts from the tabernacle to the altar.

You may join any time by contacting Deacon Franz Hoffer (586-566-4494) or deaconfranz@stmichaelcc.org.
